HISTORY & BOUNDARIES
Bahan Township is located in the north central part of Yangon. The township comprises 22 wards and shares borders with Yankin Township and Mayangone Township in the north, Sanchaung Township and Kamayut Township in the west, Tarmwe Township in the east, and Dagon Township and Mingalar Taung Nyunt Township in the south. Bahan is one of the most prosperous townships in Yangon. Shwetaunggya (formerly, Golden Valley) and Inya Myaing are two of Yangon's most exclusive neighbourhoods.
Over 3,300 businesses situated in this area, nearly around 60,000 employees working in these respective businesses, Area: 8.8 sq km – Density: 10,944/sq km [2014], Total Population 96,732 people living in this township. This is one of Yangon’s most up-market areas and includes the location of “Golden Valley” where some of the most affluent properties in Yangon are available. Many colonial style large homes surrounded by large gates are prominent in Golden Valley, in a calm, quiet, tree-lined area. Bahan is probably one of the most convenient locations to live in Yangon due to its central location. The Bogyoke Aung San Museum located in Bahan is a museum dedicated to General Aung San, the founder of modern Myanmar (Burma). Established in 1962, the two-story museum was Aung San's last residence before his assassination in July 1947.
The Sakura Residence in Inya Road is a well-known serviced accommodation, and so is Golden Hill Towers off Kabar Aye Pagoda Rd. The downtown is 15- 25 mins away, there is good access to the north for Myanmar Plaza, Melia Hotel and Sedona Hotel, etc. and of course almost every time you look south from Bahan you can see the beautiful Shwe Dagon Pagoda.
Furthermore, Bahan has a good range of restaurants and bars particularly along Shwe Gon Daing Rd and surrounding the boutique Savoy Hotel on Inya Rd, but nothing beats Yangon’s top gourmet street along Sayasan Rd, below New University Rd. Sayasan boasts a range of delicacies from Italian, Pizza, Japanese, Chinese, Korean and even great tea shops and bakeries.
ဗဟန္းၿမိဳ႕နယ္ သည္ အေနာက္ပုိင္းခ႐ုိင္တြင္ ပါဝင္ၿပီး အက်ယ္အဝန္း ၃ ဒႆမ ၄၁၃ စတုရန္းမုိင္ ရွိသည္။ ပတ္ပတ္လည္တြင္ အင္းယားကန္၊ မရမ္းကုန္းၿမိဳ႕နယ္၊ ရန္ကင္းၿမိဳ႕နယ္၊ တာေမြၿမိဳ႕နယ္၊ မဂၤလာေတာင္ၫႊန္႔ၿမိဳ႕နယ္၊ ကန္ေတာ္ႀကီး၊ ဒဂုံၿမိဳ႕နယ္ႏွင့္ ကမာရြတ္ၿမိဳ႕နယ္တုိ႔ ဝန္းရံထားသည္။
ဗဟန္းၿမိဳ႕နယ္ ေျမေနရာသည္ ေရွးျမန္မာမင္းမ်ား လက္ထက္က ထြက္ရပ္ေပါက္ပုဂိၢဳလ္မ်ား၏ ထြက္ရပ္ေပါက္ လုပ္ငန္းတြင္ အသုံးျပဳေသာ ဗဟုံးေက်ာက္မ်ား ထြက္ရွိရာေနရာတစ္ခု ျဖစ္သျဖင့္ ဗဟုံးအရပ္ေဒသဟု ေခၚေဝၚခဲ့ၾကသည္။ ကာလေရြ႕လ်ားေသာအခါ ဗဟန္းဟူ၍ ျဖစ္လာသည္ဟု ဆုိၾကသည္။ ဗဟန္းၿမိဳ႕နယ္အျဖစ္ ၁၉၇၂ ခုႏွစ္တြင္ သတ္မွတ္ျပ႒ာန္းခဲ့သည္မွာ ယခုတုိင္ျဖစ္သည္။
ေျမအေနအထားမွာ အေရွ႕ပုိင္းတြင္ ေျမျပန္႔အနည္းငယ္ရွိၿပီး က်န္ေနရာ အမ်ားစုမွာ ကုန္းျမင့္မ်ားႏွင့္ လွ်ဳိေျမာင္မ်ား ျဖစ္သည္။
ဗဟန္းၿမိဳ႕နယ္တြင္ ရပ္ကြက္ (၂၂)ခု ပါဝင္သည္။ အေထြေထြအုပ္ခ်ဳပ္ေရးဦးစီးဌာနမွ စာရင္းမ်ားအရ ၎ရပ္ကြက္မ်ားတြင္ အိမ္ေျခ (၈ ၃၄၁)ခု ရွိၿပီး အိမ္ေထာင္စု (၁၇ ၆၃၇)စု ရွိသည္။ စုစုေပါင္း လူဦးေရမွာ (၇၈ ၆၈၆)ဦး ျဖစ္သည္။
ထင္ရွားသည့္ ဘုရားေစတီပုထုိးမ်ားမွာ ေၾကးသြန္းဘုရားႀကီး၊ ငါးထပ္ႀကီးဘုရား ႏွင့္ ေျခာက္ထပ္ႀကီးဘုရားတုိ႔ ျဖစ္သည္။ မုိးကုတ္ဝိပႆနာရိပ္သာ၊ မဟာစည္သာသန႔ာရိပ္သာ၊ ေရႊမင္းဝံသာသန႔ာရိပ္သာ၊ ဓမၼေဇာတိဝိပႆနာရိပ္သာ၊ ေရႊေတာင္ကုန္းသာသန႔ာရိပ္သာ အစရွိသည့္ ထင္ရွားသည့္ ရိပ္သာမ်ား ရွိသည္။
သမုိင္းဝင္ေနရာမ်ားမွာ ဗုိလ္ခ်ဳပ္ေအာင္ဆန္းျပတုိက္၊ ဗုိလ္ခ်ဳပ္ေအာင္ဆန္းေၾကး႐ုပ္၊ အာဇာနည္ဗိမာန္၊ သူရဲေကာင္းစစ္သည္ဗိမာန္တုိ႔ ျဖစ္သည္။ ႏုိင္ငံပုိင္ ျမန္မာ့အလင္း သတင္းစာတုိက္ႏွင့္ ပုံႏွိပ္တုိက္တုိ႔ တည္ရွိရာ ၿမိဳ႕နယ္လည္းျဖစ္သည္။

စြမ္းအင္က႑အေနျဖင့္ ပုဂၢလိကပုိင္ ဓာတ္ဆီ၊ ဒီဇယ္ဆီ အေရာင္းဆုိင္မ်ား ရွိၿပီး ျမဝတီ၊ Max Myanmar, Denko, Petro Kႏွင့္ Petro 7 တုိ႔ လုပ္ကုိင္ေသာ အေရာင္းဆုိင္မ်ား ျဖစ္သည္။
တႏိုင္တပုိင္ စုိက္ပ်ဳိးေရးက႑အေနျဖင့္ ကန္ေတာ္ႀကီး ေရကန္ႏွင့္ ဆက္စပ္လ်က္ ရွိေသာ ဗုိလ္ခ်ဳိ (၁) ရပ္ကြက္ရွိ ေျမပေဒသာကၽြန္းတြင္ စုိက္ပ်ဳိးေရးထုတ္ကုန္မ်ား ျဖစ္ေသာ ဟင္းသီးဟင္းရြက္၊ သစ္သီးဝလံ၊ ပန္းမ်ဳိးစုံတုိ႔ ေရာင္းခ်ပါသည္။ မ်ဳိးေစ့၊ ပုိးသတ္ေဆး၊ ေပါင္းပင္သတ္ေဆး အစရွိသည္တုိ႔လည္း ဝယ္ယူရရွိႏုိင္ပါသည္။
ထင္ရွားသည့္ ေဈးမ်ားမွာ ဗဟန္းေဈးႏွင့္ ဗုိလ္ခ်ဳိေဈးတုိ႔ ျဖစ္သည္။
အစုိးရပညာေရးက႑တြင္ မူလတန္းေက်ာင္း (၁၈)ေက်ာင္း၊ အလယ္တန္းေက်ာင္း (၃)ေက်ာင္း၊ အထက္တန္းေက်ာင္း (၃)ေက်ာင္း ရွိသည္။ ဘုန္းေတာ္ႀကီးသင္ ပညာေရးေက်ာင္းမ်ားမွာ ေအာင္ေျမသုခေက်ာင္း၊ စတုဘုမိၼကေက်ာင္း ႏွင့္ သုံးထပ္ေက်ာင္း တုိ႔ ရွိသည္။
က်န္းမာေရးက႑တြင္ ထင္ရွားသည့္ ေဆး႐ုံမ်ားမွာ ဇီဝိတဒါန သံဃ႔ာေဆး႐ုံ၊ တုိင္းရင္းေဆး႐ုံ၊ ဗဟန္းအမ်ဳိးသမီးေဆး႐ုံ၊ SSC ေဆး႐ုံ၊ သွ်င္ပါဂူေဆး႐ုံ၊ Kembangan-UHC ႏွင့္ ႏွင္းဆီကုန္းေဆး႐ုံတုိ႔ ျဖစ္သည္။ ကုတင္ (၅၀) ဆန္႔ ဗဟန္းအမ်ဳိးသမီးေဆး႐ုံကုိ ေဒၚခင္ၾကည္ေဆး႐ုံဟုလည္း ေခၚေဝၚၾကသည္။ ကုိယ္ဝန္ေဆာင္ က်န္းမာေရး၊ မီးဖြားေပးျခင္း၊ ကေလးကာကြယ္ေဆးထုိးျခင္းတုိ႔ကုိ အဓိကအားျဖင့္ လုပ္ေဆာင္သည္။
